Future simple tense ใช้เพื่ออธิบายการกระทำที่จะเกิดขึ้นในอนาคต มักใช้กับการแสดงเวลาเพื่อว่าเหตุการณ์จะเกิดขึ้นเมื่อใด
โครงสร้างของ Future Simple Tense
Subject + will/shall + verb (base form) + object
การใช้ Future Simple Tense จะใช้ “will” หรือ “be going to + verb”
ตัวอย่าง
- I will visit my grandparents next week. ฉันจะไปเยี่ยมปู่ย่าของฉันในสัปดาห์หน้า
- They are going to have a baby in the spring. พวกเขากำลังจะมีลูกในฤดูใบไม้ผลิ
นอกจากนี้ยังสามารถ future simple tense โดยการใช้ “shall” ในภาษาที่เป็นทางการและจะไม่ค่อยพบในสมัยใหม่
- We shall leave at dawn. เราจะออกเดินทางในเวลารุ่งสาง
Future simple tense ยังสามารถใช้เพื่ออธิบายเหตุการณ์ในอนาคตที่แน่นอนว่าจะเกิดขึ้น เช่น การกระทำที่วางแผนไว้หรือเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นตามธรรมชาติ และยังสามารถใช้ในการทำนายหรือแสดงความเต็มใจหรือตั้งใจ
ตัวอย่าง
- The train will arrive at 10:00 am. (certainty)
- I will call you when I get home. (plan)
- It will rain tomorrow. (prediction)
- We are going to start our own business. (intention)
รูปแบบประโยคปฏิเสธของ Future simple tense จะใช้ “will not” / “won’t”+ Verb หรือ “shall not” / “shan’t”
ตัวอย่าง
- I will not go to the store.
- They won’t be able to come.
- We shall not attend the meeting.
รูปแบบประโยคคำถามของ Future simple tense จะสลับการตำแหน่งของ Subject กับ “will” หรือ “shall”

- Shall we order takeout?
